Publishing - N/A, N/A, BE
Leuven University Press was established in 1971 under the auspices of Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. In the past 40 years the press stayed true to its commitment to disseminate scholarly knowledge and grew out to be an ambitious academic press of international standing. Today the press has over a thousand books in print in the fields of Music, Art & Theory, Text & Literature, History & Archaeology, Philosophy, Religion & Society, and Law & Economics. We publish appr. forty new titles a year by authors from all over the world. About half of our books are in English and/or combined European languages (French, German, Italian); the remaining volumes are in Dutch. All publications are assessed by an independent editorial board and a network of specialist readers in order to meet and maintain international academic standards. This review procedure is at the heart of our university press, together with the service offered to our authors and a personal approach to publishing. Leuven University Press is committed to bring its publications to the attention of an international and targeted audience of readers. Findability and availability are key words in this endeavour. In order to do so we make use of distribution partners such as Cornell University Press and NBN International, as well as the digital solutions that Google Books and Amazon have to offer.
