The Levy Park Conservancy is a private nonprofit organization established to manage and activate Levy Park, a city park in the Upper Kirby District of Houston, Texas. The Levy Park Conservancy will manage the park, its maintenance, operations and long-term stewardship, programs and partnerships, and visitor services and concessions. The Conservancy will ensure a safe, welcoming, and highly active neighborhood park that is a destination for families from throughout our metropolitan area. Levy Park is part of the City of Houston park system, and is currently under major renovation, scheduled for opening in late 2016. Levy Park is a six-acre green space and urban commons located in the area between Richmond Avenue, the Southwest Freeway, Eastside Street and Wakeforest Avenue in Houston's Upper Kirby District. The park will include a performance pavilion, event and activity lawns, food and beverage service, community gardens, innovative play structures, an elevated overlook, water features, a rain garden, and play areas for small and large dogs. The park is part of a broader movement in Houston, Texas, to ensure outdoor public spaces for physical activity, learning, fun, urban respite, and for inspiration from the arts, the environment, and our fellow Houstonians.
