Liberia Marathon Details
Liberia's official marathon started on 28 August 2011, bringing people from around Liberia and around the world together in celebration of Liberia's journey. Over 1,000 people came out in 2011, including President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and other dignitaries, to participate in the Liberia Marathon, an opportunity to showcase Liberia as a nation and celebrate its progress and development. The second edition will be held on August 24, 2013. This race will see more than double the participants from 2011, include entertainment from local artists and improved race technology.
