How we produce and consume food is both the biggest contributor and solution to deforestation, biodiversity loss and the climate crisis. While there is no silver bullet to our environmental challenges, we believe controlled-environment agriculture (CEA) is the best path toward sustainable intensification: where agricultural yields are increased without adverse environmental impact and without the conversion of additional non-agricultural land. The main barrier to CEA is the large upfront costs, with nearly 50 percent of capital expenses of a vertical farm going to the replacement of sunlight. We are on a mission to remove the technological and financial barriers to CEA by designing bespoke LED systems for our clients at a fraction of the cost of today's leading systems.
