LifeMap was incorporated in May 2014. In the very next year, it became the only commercial developer asked by Apple to participate in the launch of its ResearchKit platform, garnering worldwide attention for creating engaging, innovative, and data-driven mobile health (mHealth) apps. LifeMap worked closely with world-class research institutions and commercial organizations such as the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Stanford University School of Medicine, the Mount Sinai – National Jewish Health Respiratory Institute, 23andMe, Medidata, and Sema4. The company built apps that spanned a wide range of uses, from research-themed Asthma Health and MyHeart Counts, to the chronic-disease managing COPD Navigator, and Mount Sinai's patient-services app named Mount Sinai NY. The company quickly gained a reputation as a world-class mHealth developer for both iOS and Android. Numerous research papers based on LifeMap's technology have been published in peer-reviewed scientific journals such as Nature Biotechnology and JAMA Cardiology. The company was acquired in Summer 2017, completing its mission.
