Across the United States, youth are dropping out of sports at analarming rate. The average child spends less than three years playinga sport and most youth are quitting sport by the age of 11 (AspenInstitute Project Play, 2019). LiFEsports was founded on the beliefthat all youth deserve the opportunity to engage with caring adultsin intentionally designed sport- and recreation-based activities. Forus, these data indicate that we must continue to expand our reach toensure today's youth reap the well-documented social, emotional, andphysical benefits of participating in sport.Our Mission: To prepare youth for life and leadership through sport.Our Vision: To be the national exemplar in sport-based positive youth development.
