Lindy's Cakes Ltd is owned by Lindy Smith. Her passion is designing and creating imaginative cakes. She was inspired by her own wedding cake, back in 1991, to take her first steps towards establishing herself as a 'name' in the cake world. From humble beginnings in her home kitchen, she experimented with the techniques she had learnt, she soon discovered that sugar was the perfect medium through which to express her creative abilities and original ideas. In 1997 Lindy entered her first competitions and much to her own amazement, received 3 gold awards. In 1998 she started writing regular features for "Cakes and Sugarcraft Magazine" which she continued to do for about three years. Her first cake decorating book 'Hobby Cakes' was published in 2000. She has continued to write books ever since, loving the freedom it gives her to be highly creative and original. So far she has written thirteen books, and is writing her fourteen now! Lindy loves to travel and has been very privileged to see first hand how sugarcraft and cake decorating is constantly evolving around the globe. Lindy' s cake mission is to inspire others through her books and teaching and to bring a fresh contemporary look to sugarcraft design.
