Mental Health Care - Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
Line & Length is a mental health social connection movement based in Australia. Operating as a Not-For-Profit, Line & Length's purpose is to start conversations that save lives by utilising sport as a tool to empower people to have a voice and a platform to share their mental health journey. According to the Federal Government's National Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Plan, 3318 Australians died by suicide in 2019; 1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental health or behavioural disorder in any given year. Given these confronting statistics and the reality that there is still social stigma associated with mental health and mental ill-health in the Australian public; Line & Length's mission is to drive generational change through social connection to normalise conversations surrounding mental health. We envision that one day we can live in a world where the stigma around mental health conversations no longer exists. Line & Length currently works across 3 pillars to drive positive mental health outcomes:1. Annual sporting events which provide a platform for young people to open up about their mental health and access a year round support network. 2. Podcasts dedicated to relatable individuals willing to show vulnerability and imperfections by having unscripted and honest conversations about their mental health. This enables our audience to normalise speaking with others about their mental health.3. Providing mental health training for our partners in an effort to upskill the community and minimise risks of future suicides. * Disclaimer: Line & Length does not offer specific medical advice or treatment.
