Linkit to Learn is an organisation that seeks to contribute to the eradication of illiteracy through a range of products aimed at people at different stages of literacy. The uniqueness of our approach lies in the fact that we make use of cognates as the foundation of our programs. This essentially means that we help people for whom English is not a first language to learn literacy through using words in their home language that sound similar in English. The program is based on a variety of games making the learning process fun for kids of all ages. Our mission is to establish a self-sustaining, continuing education program that lays the right foundation for literacy education in South Africa and enables young learners to make an easy transition from home language to English.
