Why Lionheart?The name started back in my college days- I was playing with an anagram generator and it rearranged "Catherine LaPointe" into "Patience Lionheart". I thought it sounded pretty cool, but soon forgot about it. After many years it re-entered my mind because of how well it has represented my journey. I have absolutely needed to learn patience while building my business. But patience alone won't get you anywhere. If you want something to happen, you need to believe you can do it. Don't take no for an answer- make it happen. Be bold.I live in the "North Country," the area of New York above the Adirondack Mountains near the Canadian border. I have experience in graphic design, web design, children's books, and book covers, among other things. I enjoy dabbling in different styles of artwork, and always have several projects going at once. These days I find myself mostly a pastel painter and poster artist. I have always loved to travel, and have increasingly found myself seeking out beautiful natural settings, especially in Upstate NY and the Adirondack foothills. I am inspired to create artwork from my travels as well, and share these scenes that I find. As a painter, I work in the style of Modern Impressionism. Modern impressionists seek to capture the fleeting effects of light through loose and expressive marks. When you really connect with a landscape, its all about the mood you feel, it's hold on you, and you respond to it emotionally. It's like gazing into the eyes of another person for one intimate moment. I want to inspire those who see my artwork to hold that gaze, instead of quickly glancing away.
