Fund-raising - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
The Barry & Marie Lipman Family Prize is an annual global prize that advances creative solutions by inspiring people to think together in new ways. Administered by the Wharton School on behalf of the University of Pennsylvania, the Prize is committed to resourcing and connecting change-makers to bring innovative ideas to new places and problems around the world. First presented in 2012, the $250,000 grand prize is awarded each year to a non-profit organization on the cusp of great change. Two runner-up organizations each receive $50,000. All honorees receive executive training and support from the Wharton School and the University of Pennsylvania. The Lipman Family Prize is made possible through a generous gift from Barry and Marie Lipman, and reflects their own strong commitment to socially responsible organizations and action. The Prize engages faculty, staff, and students from across the University's 12 undergraduate and graduate schools. The work of the Prize resides within the Wharton Leadership Program and is conducted with the support of other university institutes and centers, such as the Wharton Social Impact Initiative, the Center for Leadership & Change Management, the Netter Center for Community Partnerships, the Center for High Impact Philanthropy and the Master of Science Program in Nonprofit/NGO Leadership.
