Literacy for Life is a nonprofit organization committed to teaching non-literate adults to read, write, and speak. As a result of these English language communication skills, individuals are empowered to begin a positive cycle of family literacy, pursue increased opportunities for employment, housing and health, and strengthen their relationships through higher self esteem that comes with education. To help adults reach their goals, Literacy for Life works with volunteer tutors who are partnered with students in a one-on-one setting optimal for learning. Literacy for Life transforms the community, empowering individuals by removing barriers to success and strengthening relationships through the power of literacy.
