Performing Arts - Ithaca, New York, United States
During the summer of 2018 after sitting on the idea for several months, Lead Producer Jacob Stuckelman committed to creating a fully-staged production of Little Shop of Horrors inside a flower shop, a concept that has never been seen before. After three years of attending Ithaca College, he had passed by the quaint and fragrant Bool's Flower Shop in the downtown Ithaca area countless times and knew it would be the perfect venue for the production. He approached the owners of the shop and they were quite stunned, to say the least. With no prior theatre experience, the shop team was unaware of how the production would work logistically. So, Stuckelman and co-producer Ben Fleischer drafteda proposal that explained in detail the ins-and-outs of the production: where the stage areas would be, how to arrange seating in the space, where to set up lighting and sound equipment, and how to work around the store's regular business hours. Once the contract was signed, Stuckelman and Fleischer hit the ground running. They developed a team of fellow Ithaca College students, including a director, designers, and a full marketing team.
