LRP is a platform for a diverse group of young musicians to collaborate on musical theatre projects. Since its founding in 2013, it has allowed keen amateur directors from around the UK to set, and meet, their own goals in staging, orchestration and performance. We began underground - literally - constructing a small, fully equipped theatre at a central Oxford location disclosed by word-of-mouth to our friends. The company returned to this venue for several years, with different directors developing novel miniature staging techniques for a variety of famous musicals. Although we have moved onto larger stages, our high-octane private gatherings ask nothing of our friends besides their keen (and sometimes raucous) enjoyment. In January 2017 the company broke new ground with the premiere of our first original show, Raoul Part 1. The performance was intended to show the adaptability of our cast with unperformed material, and was the culmination of six months of writing work by LRP members Mark Heath and Tom Franklyn Gammage. Highly positive reception has led to the decision to develop the concept into a fully-orchestrated musical and pursue commercial promotion.Anyone interested in participating with LRP is warmly invited to discuss their interests via email.
