The Lallubhai Motilal College of Pharmacy (L.M.C.P.) is one of the earliest pharmacy colleges established in India. It was founded in the year 1947 by the philanthropic educational trust, Ahmedabad Education Society (AES) on a humble donation of Rs. 3.0 lakhs by the family of late Sheth Shri Lallubhai Motilal after whom the college is named. It is a Grant-in-Aid college, which is affiliated with Gujarat Technological University (GTU) since 2008. The institute was affiliated to Bombay University in 1947. From 1950 until the formation of Gujarat Technological University, it was affiliated to Gujarat University. L.M.C.P. is approved by AICTE and PCI, New Delhi, Government of IndiaThe institute started offering a bachelor's in pharmacy in the beginning. It started offering courses for M.Pharm in 1954 in Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmaceutical Microbiology (Pharmaceutics), Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, and Pharmacology.
