Locavorest is a locally-owned, locally-focused online farmers' market & delivery service that connects local producers and consumers. The online platform allows consumers to order fresh, local produce, meat, cheese and bread and more on a weekly basis. Consumers can then pick up their orders from Locavorest Hubs. These Hubs are set up out of homes, schools, workplaces, fitness centres and community centres with help from individuals and businesses in the community.Our goal is to leverage technology and engage with local producers to develop a new, simple and convenient distribution channel through which consumers can purchase local food directly from producers, thereby revolutionizing the food supply chain and building towards a food-secure Peterborough. Locavorest utilizes technology to minimize waste and deliver the minimum viable product to the consumer without costly infrastructure such as warehouses. Partnerships are made with individuals and businesses so pick-up locations can be set up out of their homes, schools, workplaces, fitness centres and community centres.
