Oil & Energy - Austin, Texas, United States
Lone Star Clean Fuels Alliance is a Department of Energy supported Clean Cities coalition serving the Central Texas region and beyond. The mission of Clean Cities is to advance the nation's economic, environmental, and energy security by supporting local decisions to adopt practices that contribute to the reduction of petroleum consumption in the transportation sector. Clean Cities is a community-based, voluntary program that provides a framework for local businesses and governments to work together as a coalition to build on the community's existing Clean Cities' technologies markets. The Clean Cities framework helps coalitions to focus and coordinate the activities necessary to strengthen the existing markets. It also provides a forum to develop partnerships, investigate opportunities for joint projects, leverage resources, and collaborate on public policy.Lone Star Clean Fuels Alliance, formerly Central Texas Clean Cities, is a stand-alone non-profit corporation functioning as a recognized Clean Cities coalition, supporting the mission of reducing our dependence on foreign oil. LSCFA will continue to support the mission and ideals of the Dept. of Energy program, serving stakeholders , creating public-private partnerships, working closely with industry partners, and supporting fossil fuel reduction efforts in the region. What changes can stakeholders expect? First and foremost, you can expect a broader program base. As a non-profit we can define our projects, contract to work on special programs with industry and fleet partners, hire staff to support programs, and accept stakeholders fleets from outside the five county region. We will design and manage our own web site, and the logo has changed to reflect our new name.
