Long Lane JFC was founded in 1981 and took over the derelict grounds at Kidbrooke Playing Fields in 1994. Three years later the club became a registered charity and with the aid of fundraising and grants has developed the facilities into some of the best in the southeast. During the London 2012 Olympics the club was chosen as a training facility and hosted some of the worlds best footballers.In 2012/13 the mens first team entered the Kent County League for the first time and has remained there since, now playing in Division 1 (West). The senior ladies are currently in Step 6 of the womens football pyramid, in Division 1 of the South East Counties Womens League. The club now has around 40 teams ranging from U7's through to vets, including girls teams at various age groups.
