The Los Angeles Radiological Society (LARS) is a membership organization dedicated to the promotion of high standards of practice in medicine overall with a focus primarily on Radiology and Radiation Oncology. Members of the Society adhere to the medical and ethical standards of practice adopted by the American College of Radiology.Membership in LARS is the entrance to organized Radiology, including the California Radiological Society (CRS), the American College of Radiology (ACR), and the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO). Organized Radiology exists to promote standards of excellence in practice and science, and to assure that Radiology is fully represented in political and socioeconomic deliberations.At the core of LARS Mission is the goal of providing Continuing Medical Education.The purpose of the Continuing Medical Education Program of the Los Angeles Radiological Society is to provide CME activities that enable our members as well as others in the medical community with a professional interest to remain current and respond to advances in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, and radiation oncology. The expected result of our Continuing Medical Education Program is the incorporation of current radiology and radiation oncology research results, new modalities, diagnosis or treatment into the practices of Los Angeles area Radiologists and Radiation Oncologists with the ultimate goal of providing the best possible care to patients from diverse cultural groups and communities. It is further our purpose to evaluate the effectiveness of both the individual CME Activities and the overall CME Program to make sure they meet the identified needs of our target audience.
