Los Caminos helps youth with behavioral problems. We do this based on the methodology of Experiential Learning. This method uses concrete experiences to give participants an insight into their own behavior. Through long walks, cycling, and kayaking, we create situations where the participant is challenged both physically and mentally. Outdoor activities are a quick and direct way to learn to deal with responsibility, to collaborate, and to plan; in short, to face the challenges in everyday life. For who? The experiences of Los Caminos are open to all young people with behavioral problems aged 14-24 years. We have extensive experience guiding youths with disorders such as ADD, ADHD and PDD-NOS as well as young people with intellectual disabilities or addiction problems. What is the goal? The outdoor activities are developed to acquire the following competencies: - Responsibility - Cooperation - Problem solving skills - Independence - Resilience - Insight into their own behavior and that of others - Social skills - Insight into their own feelings and those of others - Self-confidence Through direct personal experiences the participant learns to deal with his/her behavior in a different ways so he/she can create new perspectives for the future and learn new ways to face the challenges of living.
