Why: As a high school teacher, my eyes were opened to struggles my students faced that I hadn't previously considered. There are felons in our high schools that need more than remedial education. They need someone to walk with them towards employability. Mission: Love, Cookies provides marketable training, meaningful relationships and a first job for teens with barriers to employment. We are a cookie company that prepares teens to create better opportunities for themselves.Purpose: To help teens with criminal backgrounds become positive, contributing members of our community.Short term Impact: Regular and sustained employment, social network establishment, community engagement, job-readiness.Long Term Impact: Our community is stronger, safer, and healthier by lowering crime rates, generating more tax dollars, and more people invested in the community. Reduction in the probability of recidivism, increase inter-generational health, wealth and well-being.
