The Lower Cape Fear Human Resource Association (LCFHRA) is one of 550 affiliate chapters of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and has served New Hanover, Pender and Brunswick Counties since 1968. We now cover Onslow, Carteret and Craven counties through our MSA. We are a non-profit volunteer organization. Membership is open to all Human Resource professionals or college faculty, as well as undergraduate and graduate students in business, human resources, industrial relations or areas of business related to the field of human resource management. As the local chapter affiliate of SHRM, we feel strongly about our commitment to the national organization, and have adopted their Core Principles as our own. We believe in adding value to those we serve by modeling the principles of Professional Responsibility, Professional Development, Ethical Leadership, Integrity, Fairness, and Justice.The mission of the Lower Cape Fear Human Resource Association is to "Advance the Profession" and "Serve the Professional". We are committed to supporting our members by effectively communicating important information related to key trends in business, workplace legislation, workplace diversity and the HR field in order to strengthen core competencies, develop strategic HR leadership skills, and build proactive workplace practices that have positive impacts on businesses and in our communities.
