Luminocity Atlanta's world premiere light-based mobile performance took place on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the historic Downtown Atlanta Woodruff Park with Hinterland, a new creation by gloATL starring Big Boi. This 9-scene progressive, migrating work combined light, technology, dance, music, aerial, and theatrical design to create an explosion of breathtaking visuals and dynamic movement. Officials estimated over 20,000 spectators attended the free to the public event. Thousands filled the park, the perimeter and the streets to catch glimpses of the many vignettes that were spread throughout the park. All performances featured casts of unique, illuminated characters and music, incorporating a myriad of sounds and cultural rhythms, completed by the performance of world-renowned artist Antwan "Big Boi" Patton as the "Ringmeister". Big Boi performed several works, including music from his critically acclaimed new album "Sir Luscious Leftfoot and the Son of Chico Dusty." After the performance installation in the park, a parade- like procession along Peachtree Street embarked with an estimated 2000 or so spectators joining in on the celebratory atmosphere. A finale on Baker Street near The World of Coca-Cola featured another performance by Antwon "Big Boi" Patton, lighted bmx bike stunts and a myriad of theatrical dance and acrobatics.
