Our studio brings together an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to design. LVA is rooted in research and technology, leveraging this strength to work smarter, faster and more iteratively with the client, engineers, scientists and craftspeople to translate complex visions into high-functioning, low impact design. LVA prides itself on its link to academia via professorships at Universities. This link allows us to include our research and experimental studies (engineered soils systems development, sustainable practices, planting cultivation) into our projects.Our extensive professional experience and access to the newest technologies and techniques sets up LVA to handle the rigors of a project's particular challenges (e.g., degraded site ecology, variable subsurface conditions, drainage conflicts and accessibility constraints). We excel not only at design, but also at overseeing construction, and thus our designs always take into account the constructibility, costs and unexpected conditions that may arise. In our designs, we prioritize safety, sustainability and the diverse experiential needs of the people that will be using the space. Sensitive to context, adaptable, and welcoming to all, our designs are born of the belief that democratic spaces are essential to livable parks.
