Lùth Engineering, Mobility and Sustainable Logistics is a consulting and technical advisory company specialized in the transport sector. The company operates in the areas of Energy and Environment, Sustainable Logistics and Public Transport Management, being recognized for its technical and scientific rigor in the construction of transition scenarios for sustainable mobility of people and freight. Founded in 2017, it is composed of a multidisciplinary team of researchers (masters and doctors) from renowned academic institutions such as Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Military Engineering Institute (IME) and Federal University of Ceará (UFC). The company has extensive experience in important national and international projects. For example, our scenario-based model called 'Transport-Energy-Emissions Multi-Tier Analysis' (TEMA) is being used to estimate transport activity, energy use and emission prospects for the Brazilian transport sector in the next Sixth Assessment Report (AR6/IPCC). The model is validated by important national and international scientific institutions, being published in international journals such as Climate Transparency, Energy Policy (Elsevier), Renewable Energy (Elsevier) and Climatic Change (Springer). In addition, the current official Brazilian figures reported by the main government institutions are estimated by our model, for example: (i) data on the activity, reported by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE); (ii) the 4th National Communication of Brazil to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC); (ii) the Partnership for Market Readiness Brazil (PMR Brazil), reported by the Ministry of Economy (ME) and the World Bank Group (WBG); and (iv) prospective scenarios for battery powered electric buses reported by the Ministry of Regional Development (MDR) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
