Maatram Educational and Charitable Trust is a registered (Reg. No: 42/2011) non-religious and non-profit social service organization. Group of like minded people, started as a band in 2008 with the sole objective of serving people. We were officially registered in 2011. We operate from Chennai, India. We don't have big budget for running office and salary for employee. All our work are being handled by our valuable volunteers who come from our friends & friend of friend circle. The result is an unimaginable reduction in operating cost, compared to many NGO's, resulting in the full throttle delivery of the fund generated to the needed ones. Apart from contributing year on year to the welfare of underprivileged students, we actively contribute in times of natural disaster. Compared to other organizations who stop with Relief operations during such calamity, we stay on ground till Rehabilitation is facilitated. We have performed this during Chennai Floods, Vardha cyclone, Gaja Cyclone, COVID-19 pandemic to name a few. To alleviate poverty, we strongly believe Self-reliance is the silver bullet. We help individuals become self reliant by providing them with skills and help them to find employment or a means to become self-employed. Apart from our focus area's above, we often get involved in Medical support for underprivileged, Establishing Child Rights, Woman Empowerment and upholding human rights.
