Machinations.io is the game balancing platform.The collaborative platform to design, simulate and balance game systems.The architects of the games industry - game designers - had no dedicated tools and were left with spreadsheets & static diagrams to deal with the overwhelming logical & mathematical complexity that empowers today's games. Until now. With Machinations, game development studios can map any gameplay system, regardless how complex, using a Turing-complete language in an interactive diagram; then forecast the future using Monte Carlo simulations to predict emergence. The platform is interconnected with the existing game dev tool stack, eg Unity, via the open API, so game balancing happens naturally. A seamless flow between creators, diagrams, game engines and player telemetry.Machinations was originally developed by PhD Joris Dormans (co-founder) at the University of Amsterdam in 2012. Since then it's been picked up by 250+ academic institutions around the world such as UCSC, RIT, NYU, Cardiff, Chalmers/Gothenburg, then thousands of game dev graduates speaking the language & mastering the tool have brought Machinations into world-class studios such as Ubisoft, Gameloft, Wargaming, King, etc.As of Q1 2021, Machinations.io has 20.000+ game designers registered (99% viral, check out our public Slack and Discord), across 2.500+ studios.We've been backed by SeedCamp, GapMinder and superangels such as Alexis Bonte.
