Mackay Bar Outfitters & Guest Ranch is an Idaho backcountry ranch, located along the main Salmon River. One of the most unique getaways offered in the lower 48 states, Mackay Bar provides top quality guided hunts, fishing trips and all-inclusive vacation packages, all in a beautiful back-country setting. We cater to large groups, families, or individuals who are seeking an adventure of a lifetime. The ranch is located along the banks of the famous "River of no Return" Salmon River and encompasses one of the largest outfitting units in Idaho. Nestled in the Frank Church Wilderness Area, guests can experience over 273,000 acres of road less adventure including 75 miles of the pristine main Salmon River. Recreational activities include: •Guided hunts for elk, deer, bear, cougar, wolf, and sheep •Guided chukar and grouse hunting •Guided steelhead and trout fishing •Scenic jet boat excursions •Fly fishing •Trail rides •Hiking Choose between a private cozy cabin or individual rooms or experience a rustic night stay in our fully furnished wall tent. Enjoy home cooked meals in the lodge and then sip wine or coffee in front of the warm fire. The ranch boasts a private airstrip, boat landing, its own hydropower facility, a guest lodge, store, showers and a variety of guest cabins and rooms. Ranch guests typically arrive by small plane or jet boat and the lodge and store are anticipated stop for rafters and power boaters on the Salmon River. Our Back Country Airstrip, (MCA) at just under 2,000 feet is one of the best airstrips on the river.
