Hi, I'm Kristin, travel lover, design junkie, gardening enthusiast, and the photographer behind MacklerMedia. We provide wedding and portrait photography services and are based in the Washington D.C. area. I am a photojournalist who got into photography to capture and tell important stories through images. It is an honor to work with people to document some of the happiest and most important memories of their lives, from engagements, to weddings, to growing families. I use a candid approach to photography because I believe it is the best way to capture true emotion, moments, beauty, and most importantly, love. Photography has this unique power to instantly and permanently capture a moment in time. And I think the most meaningful and beautiful moments happen when people relax, be themselves, have fun, and forget that the camera is even there. This is why I strive to capture the most important moments of people's lives in an honest, straightforward way. And this is why I love being a photographer! I have previously worked as a newspaper photographer and still work as a freelancer for publications in the Washington D.C. area and beyond. I graduated with a degree in photojournalism from Ohio University. In fact, I met my husband, Chris, (who is also a photojournalist) while working for Ohio University's student-run newspaper. So I can easily say that becoming a photographer was the best decision of my life!
