The world enlarged — your lens through our lens through your lens.The story behind MACROLENZ originates from macro lenses — camera lenses with the ability to shoot at a 1:1 magnification ratio in order to capture highly detailed images of otherwise hard-to-see, microscopic subjects. Analogous to macro lenses, Macrolenz strives to bring attention to the smaller, unnoticed issues across the world, magnifying them to educate, raise awareness, and inspire people to think more critically and have more deep, substantial conversations online. Only by zooming in on these missed issues will they finally become "life-size" and important. Our focus is to capture global perspectives of overlooked issues, propel meaningful conversations through artistic forms, and break patterns of instant, mindless consumption that are rampant on social media.Instead of using traditional journalism to share ideas and tell stories, Macrolenz uses artistic forms as a way of communication in order to prompt critical thinking in a digital space. Macrolenz raises questions instead of solely providing answers — all in easily understandable, social-media friendly, and creatively diverse zines.
