The Mad Science Media studio was established in 1996, steps away from the beach in Marina Del Rey, California. Founded by a group of creative professionals who worked together at Marvel Comics years before, this group of freelance artists & designers combined their strengths to handle larger jobs, and to develop properties of their own. Clients include: NBCUniversal, Sony Animation, The Walt Disney Company, MGA Entertainment, Nickelodeon, The Refinery Creative, Rotary International, Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Dark Horse Comics, Image Comics, Tokyopop, Comicraft / Active Images, Benchmark Education, Scholastic Books, Mattel, Bauer Publishing, Channing L. Bete Co., Storyboards Online, Visual Storyline, Rotary International and more. In 1999, the principals moved from their shared office space, opting to work from their homes. Maintaining a strong bond as a "virtual studio," they continue to grow their network of artists, writers, and designers. In 2001, MSM produced and sold its first completely produced in-house property; Comiculture magazine. Today, MSM continues to produce exciting projects individually and cooperatively, servicing creative, entertainment and educational industries, offering a wide variety of artistic services. The nature of their virtual studio, and large pool of creative freelance contacts, enables them to keep overhead low, allowing "fat-free" estimates to clients, ensuring their money is spent most wisely: finding the best talent for any job.
