Madagascar Oils is a company owned by two Malagasy agronomists and one Dutch economist. The company grows aromatic plants on the high plateau of Madagascar and distills the harvested leaves on the spot into essential oils for export. All products are obtained through steam distillation with our mobile distillation unit.Currently we have an outgrowers scheme for geranium bourbon production in whcih 75 farmers participate. Besides, we have planted 7.5 ha. with ravintsara (cinnamomum camphora) which will start producing in 2012. Finally we have contracted the community of Kelimasaka for the production of helichrysum gymnocephalum (everlasting, immortelle). All oils are of organic quality although not all can be certified We are exporting to Europe, Hong Kong and the USA. Annual production volumes vary between 50 and 500 kg depending on the type of oil.
