Nonprofit Organization Management - Beppu, Oita Prefecture, Japan
The word 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘢𝘵 means help/assistance in Arabic, Urdu, Hindi and Marathi. It implies lending a helping hand to those in need.As the CoVID-19 hit the cities of Beppu many of Ritsumeikan APU's students started to lose jobs and couldn't keep up with tuition. Some of the students had been fortunate enough to stay afloat in the Pandemic, thanks to scholarships like JICA and MEXT or Private scholarships. But for some, the reality was harsher. We, at MADAT, came up with the idea of donating the stimulus cheques we received from the Government. The idea was to create a platform which will facilitate a smooth, and transparent movement of funds from those who are willing to contribute, to those who are in need of such funds. We believed no student should have to lose an opportunity to education because of CoVID-19.
