Magnetic North is an award winning theatre company based in Edinburgh, Scotland. We have three areas of work: Production and touring Artist development Commissioning and development We work with playwrights, designers, composers and other artists to develop and produce stylish, articulate and individual new performance work.. We produce the work created, touring it widely - some work is made for small, intimate venues like village halls, other work is made for mid- or large-scale theatres. We also work with individual artists, using our production expertise to help them create new projects. We run a programme of artist development: this has opportunities for artists at all stages of their careers, but, as a result of research that showed the lack of development opportunities for experienced artists, we have a particular emphasis on this category. Rough Mix is a multi-artform opportunity for artists to talk, play, refresh their practice and create new work. Space/Time is a creative retreat that allows experienced artists an opportunity to reflect on their practice and refresh their creative juices.
