Mental Health Care - Houston, Texas, United States
Since 1968, Magnificat House has been offering the homeless, destitute, disadvantaged and mentally ill: • Food • Shelter • Community • Training • a Fresh Start Our Mission... Magnificat House offers refuge and hope to the destitute by creating homes where people of different mental abilities, social backgrounds, religions and cultures can live together in community. We are dedicated to the conviction that recovery is possible in a community that offers hope, respect, opportunities, work, a good home, education and friendship. Our 16 structures dot the map of Houston. Most are residential homes in residential neighborhoods. Others target specific needs, such as our Loaves & Fishes soup kitchen serving downtown street populations and our two clubs, St. Joseph and Dona Marie, serve the special needs of the mentally ill while assisting their reintegration into society. Our prison ministry also helps ex-offenders regain their identities and gain workforce skills leading to independent, productive futures.
