Magveh is developing Suspension Energy Recovery System(SERS) technology for automotive shock absorber, that can harness energy from them while providing better ride comfort and handling than regular damper.Shock absorber is a critical vehicle system, which isolates vibrations from road from the passenger cabin - to provide comfortable ride. Traditional shock absorber release energy from road vibrations as heat to achieve this, and hence this energy gets wasted. SERS is a patented technology that utilizes energy from these vibrations, by converting it into electricity. This is done by integrating an efficient and cost-effective power generator to the shock absorber. The generated electricity is stored in batteries for later use. An improvement of 5-10% in overall efficiency of Electric Vehicles can be achieved by SERS, enabling better range and lesser charging stops.
