We are a volunteer-based nonprofit organization focused on the revitalization of downtown Waterbury. Founded in 2004. Our mission is to breathe renewed community engagement and create an "easily accessible regional center and neighborhood in which to live, work, and play" while preserving its local history. We do this by implementing the Main Street America program, a 4-point framework used across thousands of communities in the United States, as a path to transform our downtown district.We are an accredited Main Street America program through the National Main Street Center, a subsidiary of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, whose mission is to cross the nation through a comprehensive, inclusive place based and people focused approach using - a movement to strength communities through preservation-based economic development in older and historic downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts.
