Founded in 2000, the World Series of Polo is a Championship Title Event Series for Major League Polo's MLP World Series of Polo Cup, comprised of female and male players from the U.S. Women's Polo Federation ("USWPF") and the U.S. Men's Polo Federation ("USMPF"). On March 17, 2020 it was formally announced that the pro sport of polo will be the first Co-Ed pro sports league in the U.S. operating in 16 cities, condensing and combining its 16 Women's League Teams and 16 Men's League Teams down into 16 Official All-Star Co-Ed Pro Polo teams offering 5-year license agreements. Polo is one of the few sports wherein the athlete is given a performance rating which allows them to play evenly against other athletes, whether male or female, on the field based on their proficiency skill level.The USWPF/USMPF was the first international governing polo authority to establish and organize U.S. sports competitions between U.S. City-based MajorLeague Polo sports teams in 2000 in a national format. It is currently led by Kimberly Casey Carr, its Founder, President & CEO. She also serves as Creative Director for the organization's Apparel Licensing division.The MLP World Series of Polo 16 Co-Ed Pro Polo teams will continue to adhere to international rules of play as dictated under the Federation of International Polo. The USWPF/USMPF is the sole governing authority for its U.S. City-designated pro Polo sports teams. World Series of Polo Properties, Inc. presently holds the licensing, merchandising and broadcast rights for the USWPF/USPMF World Series of Polo Cup title event series.The USWPF/USMPF was the first international governing polo authority to establish and organize U.S. sports competitions between U.S. City-based pro polo sports teams in a national format.
