Make the future is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that was founded in 2010 to provide high quality programs that targets community development and childhood obesity, with specific interests in serving low income, military, and homeless youth.Accomplishments Launched the Let's Move! initiative in Prince William County Obtained partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington Coordinated holiday donations for local homeless shelters Organized community mentoring fair in collaboration with Obama for America Attended Communities on the Move event with First Lady Michelle Obama in honor of our work Partnered with area physicians and community organizations to a host community health fair Partnered with NovoNordisk to bring professional athletes to local high schools Collaborated with the Washington Wizards to launch the Legacy, a youth mentoring program Gained sponsorship from Frito-Lay Partnered with local schools, community organizations, governments, and business entities Hosted three annual week long basketball camps for elementary students Worked with local churches to promote diabetes awareness Headed revitalization effort for the local Boys and Girls Club branch Further information about Make the Future can be accessed via the following link www.make-the-future.org.
