Who Are We? A project of Information Technology University of the Punjab. Makeistan is a community of makers with a shared passion for innovation through collaborative, hands-on learning. As part of the global makers movement, we provide aspiring creators from all walks of life and levels of experience a platform to come together to build their dream projects. Do you want to discuss an idea you have? Or prototype it? Or turn that into a real product? Or even just meet others who share your passion for learning, sharing knowledge and creating? Attend one of our many workshops, discussion forums and Open Days to be part of this burgeoning community of makers. Our Philosophy: Beyond Classrooms: In this era of unparalleled access to technology and knowledge, we believe in discussions instead of lectures, workshops instead of demonstrations, collaborations instead of competitions, and making instead of talking. We also believe that the more accessible and open an environment is, the easier it makes for people to exchange knowledge and ideas. Beyond Titles: We believe that in a world where teenagers can become successful CEOs, and college dropouts can change the way we live, the only qualifications that matter are one's curiosity, knowledge, creativity and work ethic. Add a passion for sharing what you know, and you're the perfect Makeistani! Beyond Barriers: We believe in removing barriers between people and their goals. Everything we do is catered towards enabling the greatest number of people access to our space, tools, knowledge and time - no matter their age, background, gender or belief. We also believe that Makeistan is no more than the sum of its members; so allowing each one to feel at home is crucial to its success.
