Maker Society is a club at Colorado School of Mines. The mission of Maker Society is to give any student, faculty, or staff member the resources to make/build anything. We provide resources in many ways. First, Maker Society buys machines, tools, and materials for use by all. A few examples include our Ultimaker 3D printer, Lionel the Vinyl Cutter, and soldering irons. Second, we hold workshops to teach the Mines community how to use the different machines we own and ones we do not. Other workshops revolve around making something, such as long bows, and participants take them home. Third, we provide information to students, faculty, and staff about where to find all the resources they need to make anything. Fourth, Maker Society operates many of the maker spaces on campus and promotes the creation of more. We see a need from all members of the Mines community to MAKE, be it for class projects, personal inventions, club endevors, or ANYTHING else.
