Medical Aid & Knowledge Initiatives (MAKi) started in 2010 with a mission of bridging community medical needs with sustainable and innovative hi tech health and education initiatives. But it is more than just that, MAKi also means "hand" in quechua, an ancient language of the people of the central Andes of South America; we extend our hands as a basic principle that each person can assist with the smallest of efforts. We came together as 3 doctors and 1 social worker, to start an initiative that is working to increase access to quality medical care and medical technology for communities in need.
