Malafacha is a fashion brand based in Mexico City. Its name comes from a mexican slang word that means "bad dressed".It was founded by Francisco Saldaña and Victor Hernal in 2006.The work of the brand is influenced by the context that surrounds their creative life, the surreal elements of a country like Mexico, the subculture of one of the biggest cities in the world and the dreams and nightmares that mix the adult life with the childhood.Malafacha transforms and weaves the emotions, the fears, the reality and the culture into experimental shapes using the fabric as a shell or an armor where the body inhabits. Understanding this shell, at the same time, as a second skin that transforms the identity of whom wears it to become whatever he wants. As one of the most important contemporary brands of Mexico, Malafacha has presented 25 collections at the Fashion Week of his country and made multiple collaborations with brands as Nickelodeon, Marvel, Hasbro, Sony, LG Electronics, Perrier, Continental and Lacoste to mention some. Also, frecuently design the image of some of the most important mexican artists and has been invited to several fashion shows around the world as Barcelona,Germany, Colombia, Canada and others. The collections have been published in national magazines as Vogue, Marie Claire, Elle, Grazia, Harper's Bazaar and in international publications as WWD, Vogue Italia, Dazed and Confused, WGSN, and others. Malafacha belives that fashion is more than just clothes. Fashion is creativity, freedom and a way to express our real self. And that beauty is even in the weirdest places.
