Manchester Chinese Business Society (MCBS), founded in 2014, is a unique business-themed multicultural student society with the majority of its members Chinese in Greater Manchester. It aims to provide young elites with a platform for communications as well as employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. The society is registered with the University of Manchester Students' Union and is guided and supervised by the university.Since its foundation, MCBS has been proceeding from the concerns of students and has always been putting China and Britain's interests first. The society has also formed close partnerships with government departments, research institutes, social organisations and large multinational enterprises, such as Department for International Trade, Manchester City Council, Liverpool City Council, Manchester China Institute, Manchester China Forum, China-Britain Technology and Trade Association, KPMG, RBS and Beijing Construction Engineering Group. The society has held a wide range of influential events, such as the Manchester China-Britain Business Conference, whereby the society was able to invite leading figures in politics and business fields to join. The society also held the Manchester Chinese Business Week, which was nominated for the award of "Best International Campaign" by the University of Manchester Students' Union. And the society has been praised and acknowledged by the community for its achievement.In the future, MCBS will continue to take full advantage of its strong social network and other social resources. Furthermore, the society will hold various activities to invite business leaders, industry elites, outstanding entrepreneurs, well-known scholars and other outstanding social figures from China and the UK, to provide a quality platform for students to communicate and grow.
