Mandurah City Choral Society Details
Mandurah City Choral Society is Mandurah's premier four part, mixed voice choir singing classical and contemporary music. Our purpose is to rehearse and perform choral music to a high standard and promote choral singing in the community. Our members come from all walks of life and from all age groups. Members work hard and enjoy their music. Mandurah City Choral Society has a long history in the Peel region in Western Australia and will soon be celebrating our 25th anniversary. The choir was formed in 1991 when it was felt there was need in the community for a professional choral group to sing four parts, welcoming both men and women. While the choir has undergone plenty of changes over the decades, it remains committed to these principles and we are delighted to still have one or two of our founding members. Recently the choir has undergone some changes that it is hoped will bring it to a wider audience. The choir will be rehearsing at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre for the first half of 2015, then returning to our traditional home at Christ's Church Mandurah for the remainder of the year. We hope that this move might help us increase our membership and encourage more locals to attend our events. Such a move will further the founding aim of the choir to promote choral singing in the Peel region.
