ManHealth is a Community Interest Company who aim to create a network of male peer support groups across the United Kingdom for men with Depression and other Mental Health conditions.The groups will be open to men affected by depression and other mental health conditions to share friendship and support. All ManHealth groups will be run by men with lived experience of mental ill health. The groups are designed to provide an opportunity to meet new friends, helping to end the social stigma, and loneliness of mental ill health.Based in Shildon near Newton Aycliffe we are proud to serve the whole of the North East. Whether you're in Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham, Middlesbrough, Darlington or the surrounding areas.Working aged men (25-54 years old) account for the largest number of suicide deaths in the UK. Suicide is the biggest killer of men aged 50 or under.These men are also the least likely to receive any kind of support.They don't talk about it with their friends.They don't share with their family.They certainly don't seek professional treatment.They are the victims of problematic thinking that says mental illness is an unmanly signs of weakness.
