Dairy - Shiraz, Fars Province, Iran
In 1988 and in an attempt to fulfill a part of the country's need for dairy products,ARMAGHAN Pasteurized Milk Company, with MANIMAS as its commercial brand name, was established in the town of FASSA, south of IRAN. But it was not until February 1990 that the company was ready for production. The factory was set up in an area covering 7,000 square meters east of FARS province, south of IRAN, 125 km from the city of SHIRAZ.In the 1992-2001 periods, due to Iranian government's declining support for the private sector and directing all its backing towards government-based companies, MANIMAS and all such companies were thus unable to see any real expansion and development. In 2001 when the government's support for private sector firms started, most especially for dairy companies, MANIMAS was also on the road towards expansion, renovation and development. Aiming to produce various high quality dairy products with the most modern machines and equipment benefiting from the latest technology, the company started to expand, adding the production lines of milk, yoghurt drink, yoghurt, creamy cheese, Curd, etc. to the existing inventory. The rapid expansion has resulted in the factory site now covering 150,000 square meters while the area given to production halls and other departments presently covers 20,000 square meters. Another MANIMAS achievement in this regard has been to set up and implement a post-production water treatment system in order to fulfill a more hygienic and healthier production and safeguard the environment benefiting from the latest technology in the field. The factory is active with two 12-hour shifts and houses welfare facilities for the staff including a store, prayer room, changing room, canteen, first aid section, football pitch and volleyball stadium. MANIMAS also extends loans and facilities to its personnel. The company is directly employing 350 production operatives, as well as a number of distributors and drivers.
