Manual Therapy Educators was started by Gavin Hamer PT, DPT, Dip MT(NZ) in 2005. Dr. Hamer has been teaching manual therapy in the USA since 1993 when he taught for the Dogwood Institute. Dr. Hamer underwent post graduate manual therapy training in both New Zealand and Canada before coming to the USA where he completed his transitional DPT. Manual Therapy Educators (MTE) is the 'New Zealand connection 4.0' with the blending of what is safe, effective, clinician-friendly and evidence-based from each country. MTE offers eight courses. These include a three course spinal series: 1. The lumbar spine and pelvic, an evidence based manual therapy rationale and treatment approach (hypo-mobility) 2. The Functional Core (hyper-mobility) 3. The Cervical and Thoracic Spine. A Functional Core Therapist certification through MTE is given after the successful completion of courses 1 and 2. Hands on: MTE believes manual therapy is an art based on science. Hands-on courses with quality instruction and supervision are a must for safe and effective outcomes. MTE provided these through small class sizes, expert instruction and quality support material. Hosting: MTE course are performed at host facility as in-house in-services or as co-sponsorship between the facility and open outside PTs. The third venue used is at local hotel conference rooms. Gavin Hamer DPT, Dip MT(NZ) graduated in New Zealand in 1979 and completed the Diploma of Manipulative Therapy (Dip MT) in 1991. Gavin and his family now live in Florida bringing the New Zealand functional eclectic approach to manual therapy, blending the best of both worlds. Take advantage of his many years of experience and his blending of many of the great PT's with Best Practice principles and his own methodology... Come away with a real life clinic perspective using some on the most effective methods and rationales here.
