Map the Way is an Enactus project that looks to put the developing world, well, on the map. Through raising awareness about global development issues, we see to it that the challenges that people in a struggle face do not go unmarked. We take particular interest in the issue of inadequate mapping of changing landscapes. The day to day, for instance in a refugee camp, can prove much more difficult when you can't let aid trucks know the way to you. If houses, roads and other geography isn't updated after, say, a flash-flood, how can clean water be guided to those in need? That's where Map the Way comes in. Using software that can be mastered in a quick fifteen minutes, we educate people on how to update the maps of both their own communities, and communities around the globe. It works by simply showing people satellite images, and allowing them to outline objects as they see them! With thousands of members already, and hundreds of locations successfully edited, our Map the Way project is only the beginning: you guys, the volunteers, are the stars of the show!
