International Trade & Development - Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa
MAPKZN through its model seeks to stimulate integration solutions that will enable regional development, through trading commodities, skills and services "initially" between the Maputo and KZN sub regions, via the newly unlocked corridor linking them. The trade route established by both governments in different periods, has cost both tax payers over $1 billion. MAPKZN believes it is time for businesses and all stakeholders from both countries to come on-board and collaborate, by creating life long trade & cultural relations to make this route sustainable for future generations. The initiative is currently active in the KZN and Maputo provinces, with future plans of involving other neighbouring regions. MAPKZN seeks to create partnerships with private sector and government institutes in both countries to pioneer trade policies that will make trade conducive between the the two sub regions, thus creating platforms for sectors from both regions to engage, interact and trade amongst each other.
